I think when it works, it's when it focuses on the characters of the tenth Doctor, Cindy, and especially Gabby. Slightly too late, but I felt like I finally understood their dynamic here, and the story was all the better for it. I was prepared to declare this great, but in the last couple issues, the stakes got a bit too abstract, and once again, Abadzis anticipates the Chibnall approach by piling on the characters in any given scene, to its detriment. Do I care about this dude's wife who got replaced by a Time Sentinel? No not really. But the ultimate outcome of Gabby's story is pretty great, and you can see how this leaves the tenth Doctor in a good place for his last few screen adventures. Shame this series ended as it finally regained its footing, though I feel like it might have regained its footing because it was ending. Titan Doctor Who: « Previous in sequence | Next in sequence » This appears to the conclusion of the Titan Tenth Doctor Comics featuring Gabby. The Time Sentinels are a strange and kind of uninteresting antagonist. But I do like how this book brings back old themes and characters (Cleo and Zhe) to tie together Gabby's ongoing story. It's interesting to see how much - and how believably - everyone has changed since being introduced. There's also a nice cameo at the end. aucune critique | ajouter une critique
The Doctor, Gabby, and Cindy are threatened by the most deadly cosmic entity they've ever faced - one that could eradicate the Doctor's very timeline! Year Three of the Tenth Doctor's comic adventures reaches its game-changing conclusion with devastating consequences for everyone on board the TARDIS! Can they make it out in one piece? Or will the fate of these beloved companions be changed forever? Writer Nick Abadzis (Pigs Might Fly, Laika) teams with artist Giorgia Sposito (Wonderland) to take the Tenth Doctor's impossibly epic story to the limit - and beyond! The culmination of the series of IDW Tenth Doctor comic albums that I’ve been reading since March, here all the various companion plotlines come together and there is a very satisfactory ending to the character arc for Gabby Gonzalez, the comics-only companion from New York. Really this whole series deserves the same recognition that the early DWM strips have; it’s beautifully done. It was especially evocative to read it at the same time as the Doctor / Donna story unfolded on TV. ( )
