It was mom's birthday, so her two kids got her a smartphone so they could make her more modern. Then the girl's taught their mom how to take selfies and they all loved it at first. Mom got out of control with the selfies though and was taking selfies everywhere. She even became internet famous with all her selfies. The girl's couldn't take it anyone so one of them told her it has to stop and mom apologized. Then they spent quailty family time together with no phones. I would get kids to write about if their parents use smartphones a lot and how do they feel about their parents phone use. Smartphones are everywhere now and i'm sure some parents are guilty of being on their phone too much. It would be interesting to see kids thoughts on that and if it bothers them or not. ( )

I think this book it important for parents to read--maybe even read it at a parent night. It is a story about a family that is excited that their mom just received a new smartphone. They even get to show her how to use it. The problem is Mom becomes addicted to her smartphone, and she cannot put it down. then, her kids didn't want her to have it at all.

They bought her mom a new cell phone. She went selfie crazy. At first is was fun to have a mom taking selfies all the time. Then it got to a point she missed her mom who didn't always have a phone in her hand taking selfies. She told her mom to stop. She needed no more selfies and just wanted time with her mom without technology and so new house rules were created.

This book focuses on technology and the. effects that cellphones have on us. I love that the author used selfies and cellphones in her book to showcase how distracted people can get when their phones are infant of them. People get so consumed with their technology they forget about whats in front of them and the important things in life. Kids today know how to do everything on cellphones and use technology. This book shows you to get back to real life and put down the phone. ( )
