Draden Freeman and the other Ghostwalkers are on a mission in Indonesia to save survivors from the World Health Organization and Army Rangers that had gone into the jungle to investigate the death of an entire village due to some kind of hemorrhagic virus. The local terrorists known as the Milisi Separatis Sumatra or MSS had not only spread the virus, but killed or injured many of those who had come to investigate. During the rescue, Draden is shot with a dart filled with the live virus. To save the others from being infected, he stays behind to burn what is left of the village and remove as much of the threat from the MSS as he can before he dies. He is surprised when he runs across Shylah, another of Whitney's experimental women, and realizes that they are one of his mated pairs. In saving Draden from an attack on the MSS, Shylah is infected with the virus. Now it is a race against time to find a vaccine that will cure both Draden and Shylah before they succumb to the effects of the virus.
Some of the books in the Ghostwalkers' series are the best I've ever read. This book does not live up to the best ones in the series, but it is much better than book 14. Some of the dialogue and actions in the book are a bit over dramatic and require some suspension of disbelief, but overall this is a good entry in the GhostWalker series and worth the read. ( )

Shylah Cosmos’s mission is to track the virus and remain unseen. Her enhanced senses tell her that the gorgeous man eradicating the terrorists one by one is a GhostWalker—and his lethal precision takes her breath away. When he’s hit by a lucky shot, she can’t stop herself from stepping in, not knowing that by saving his life she’s exposed herself to the virus.

There’s no telling how much time Draden and Shylah have left. Racing to find a cure, they quickly realize that they’ve found their perfect partner just in time to lose everything. But even as the virus threatens to consume their bodies, they’ve never felt more alive. ( )

Shylah is sent by Whitney to track down the source of the hemorrhaging virus that wiped out an entire village, she's a tracker and an assassin. Draden and his team were sent in to recover soldiers and WHO workers attacked by terrorists near that same village. As Draden was evacing out the terrorists darted him with the virus and he chooses to stay behind rather than infect his team. As Draden goes to war on the terrorists, Shylah watches until he gets hurt and she ends up getting infected after giving him mouth to mouth.

This is a fast past, action packed read as these two work to simultaneously wipe out the terrorist cell, find the remaining virus vials and providing blood and samples in the hopes their team can find a cure before they bleed out. This couple is great together, I liked watching their relationship bloom.

There's a lot of good stuff here, but it can get a little bogged down with the science and flora descriptions. But the author didn't explain how they had running water and electricity in the ranger cabin if they were out in the jungle. They mentioned the lab had solar power but didn't really explain about the ranger cabin. Also the 24 hour wedding planning and implementation in the rainforest, while very romantic, seemed ill timed and wasting resources when they had terrorists, missing scientists that created the virus and finding a cure to worry about.
