I still chuckled a couple of times, but it wasn’t anything extraordinary. Maybe I shouldn’t have taken it in small doses instead of reading it all in one sitting. I also think I may have been expecting it to be like Hyperbole and A Half. 🤷🏽♀️ Cette critique a été écrite dans le cadre des Critiques en avant-première de LibraryThing. This book was absolutely adorable to read! It was funny, relatable, and I loved the illustrations that went with them. I often found myself smiling at the jokes and her sense of humor. I like that she added in some of her culture as well and even jokes about it to an extent; it made the book feel more personal. Overall I had such a good experience reading it and I like the messages it got across. Cette critique a été écrite dans le cadre des Critiques en avant-première de LibraryThing. Although the book is visually entertaining, the story is not at all. If you would like to read a better story, I would reccomend "Enrique's Journey". I appreciated that we got sections organized by topic with a little one or two page introduction explaining it and some of her thoughts on said topic. It's funny and silly, and very much reflects the humor of the Internet post-Tumblr. Some of the comics fall flat, and the last section to me wasn't as strong as the other two, but overall I had a good time reading it. aucune critique | ajouter une critique

If you're a young artist, regardless of the medium, you'll see something of yourself in these panels.
I also appreciated the glimpse into how her life has been as she transitioned with her family to the states and back again - relatable and poignant stuff in sweet simple illustrations.
So happy I got a chance to read this and I've ordered some for my galpals for the Holidays. ( )
