I had some good homes, and I had some bad ones much like the h in this story. I'm glad the author also talked about the importance of organ donation. I think it's very important and wish more people did it. Looking forward to the conclusion. aucune critique | ajouter une critique

The only kinds of luck I knew were bad and worse...until my life hung in the balance. I finally caught a break in the form of a second chance. I vowed not to let it go to waste. To make a difference. But I didn't start really living until I met him. Dillon Montgomery. My complete opposite-except for our matching tortured souls. I couldn't resist him for long. How could I when his smallest touch made my heart race? When it felt like we were destined to be together? But sometimes luck and sorrow are intertwined... Fortuity is the first book in the Fortuity Duet, which will conclude in Serenity. Aucune description trouvée dans une bibliothèque |

This couple, they are so sweet together.
The book starts off in Faith's childhood, which is very sad and difficult and moulds her in to the person she is. Her childhood is very bad but there is no detail which keeps the book from going into darker subjects.
Dillon has a completely different family background but still has his issues.
Both are closed off to other people in their own way. Faith doesn't really open up to people, male or female but with Dillon she feels a connection.
There is no ex drama or cheating or details of intimate scenes with o/w or o/ m. They are totally in to each other.
But this book is part of a duet so you will need to read both books to complete the story.
I loved the development of the characters and Dillon and Faith together.
The only negative for me was at the beginning there is a lot of narrative or inner monologue from Faith's POV.
It's difficult as you need the details of her issues and I have to say the author mentions in the notes before the book that she has some personal knowledge of some of Faith's medical problems but still it must have taken a lot of research to ensure the details are accurate.
But I did find this narrative/inner monologue a bit much but that said it must be hard to get the balance right.
It ends on a bit of a cliffy but book 2 is out soon so not too long to wait.
