While unquestionably pleasant to look at, the actual text found in this book just barely skims the wide surface of Tarot: its history, the concepts behind divination, ethical considerations, deck purchase/care/ storage, personal rituals, spreads, phrasing the question, shuffling & card selection, journaling, card interpretations, significance of elemental dignities, astrological & numeric correspondence, etc.
"The Tarot Bible" contains very short -- 1 page -- sections on each Tarot card's divinatory meanings (roughly 4 short paragraphs per card, including both upright and reversed interpretations), along with specific key words and phrases.
Having the basic key words, and a crisp image for each Tarot card, may arguably be helpful during one's Tarot explorations. But the accompanying 2-paragraph card descriptions found here are practically useless, as is the rest of the book, in my honest opinion! Its modest section of good spreads is the only reason I still have a copy on my Tarot shelf.
The budding Tarot enthusiast is not likely to get very far, armed solely with this handbook; I would have long ago given up on my Tarot journey in complete exasperation, if this book were all I had to go on when 1st starting out!
Luckily, in today's world of online resources, much more information -- above and beyond the scant basics presented here -- is readily available, so anyone with free access to a computer & internet connection really has no need for this book.
If you're a novice, the Tarot Bible probably won't be enough to get you started -- and if you're an advanced reader, you surely already know all of this!
Sadly, the Tarot Bible is just a nice package, with no depth, and very little content! ( )
