The beginning was quite difficult to read, I can't say I liked the heroine much and I thought that the idea of the whole town hating one girl was strange and not realistic. The second part was much better, many things were explained and I quite enjoyed it in the end. Four stars. ( ) I really enjoyed the characters and the story. Evan was a sweetheart, and I loved how understanding he was of Ruth. I never felt like Ruth was a stereotype of a person on the autism spectrum. She was a strong, fully fleshed out character that just happened to have autism. I enjoyed the story very much. Fantastic - funny and quirky and heroic! This ebook is free but I would've been happy had I paid to get it. Talia Hibbert's taught me to trust her with heroes and heroines, and this gem's no exception. Not only is Evan possibly the sweetest hero you've ever met, but Ruth, in all her unique ways and as hurt as she is when we first meet her, is a genuine heroine in time. That scene in the restaurant is pure heroine, one of my favorite scenes ever. In other words, GO READ THIS ONE. Those areas are few, but still there for me. You are going to love Ruth and the way that Evan courts her. Yes, court! Quote from book, "If looks could kill, Ruth would be a weapon of mass destruction." Lord have mercy these two characters and this book is amazing. They aren't a slow burn. They are a slow Inferno! No, wait.... They are 2 separate fiery people who met and became an INFERNO! There are some interesting twist and turns. Your emotions will be all over the place, including anger. The romance is adult, but not erotic. Just a lot of good loving in the bedroom.... And against the wall..... And, um, well, just read it and enjoy. I will definitely be looking for more books by this author. aucune critique | ajouter une critique

Award-winning author Talia Hibbert introduces the small English town of Ravenswood, where feisty, outcast heroines are swept off their feet by the strong, sweet men who love them. She's the town pariah. He doesn't give a damn. In Ruth Kabbah's world, comic books are king, silence is golden, and human contact is a pesky distraction. She doesn't like people, which works out just fine, because the people in this small town don't like her. The exception to that rule? Evan Miller, her way-too-charming next-door neighbour Ex-military man Evan is all tattooed muscle on the outside-and a big, cuddly teddy bear beneath. He's used to coaxing prickly people from their shells, but he's never met a woman quite like Ruth. Blunt, sarcastic, and secretly sad, she's his exact opposite. She's also his deepest desire. Soon, Evan's steady patience and smouldering smiles are melting Ruth's reserve. But when small-town gossip from her past begins to poison her future, she's forced to make a choice. Should she trust Evan completely? Or is her heart safest alone?
