In the third installment of the Castle of Dark Dreams series, immortal warrior Conall O’Rourke finally meets the last descendent of the hated Kavanagh family. He’d killed the cruel Sean Kavanagh in battle 800 years ago, and the Irish goddess, Morrigan, cursed Conall to immortally so he could protect the Kavanagh descendents until the last one died.
Gerry Kavanugh is a vampire. Turned against her will two years earlier under circumstances never explained in the book, Conall and Gerry’s dislike of one another quickly turns to lust, but their relationship is like a tug-of-war. Between the cruel Morrigan and three demonic vestal virgins trying to destroy Conall and Gerry’s relationship, and a mysterious demon named Dell trying to kill Gerry, the H/h have their hands full.
Though it’s sad that Deimos left, his replacement in Sparkle’s candy store is drop-dead hunky. Edge is like Sparkle and Ganymede, a cosmic troublemaker, but he seems to be the only one of the three with a strong, sane head on his shoulders.
There were a few loose ends in the book not tied up. Where were Sweetie Pie and Jessica? Is ‘Gerry’ the heroine’s full name or a nickname? I also wanted to know more about Conall’s human past and how he figured out Dell’s real identity.
Since I’m a fan of dirty-talkers, I was happy to read more cursing in this book than in the previous ones. It’s still not a lot, but more than I expected.
This is my favorite book of the series.

I've enjoyed her other books enough to keep buying hers. She's not an absolutely favorite author, but the stories are original, the characters have gumption, yes the plots can be a bit convoluted, but I like that. I found the heroine in this was just a bit to naive to believe which reduced its readability for me. The hero was just yummy. ( )

The conclusion of the "wicked" series lives up to expectations. Unfortunately, expectations weren't too high based on the first and second novels of this trilogy.

Two goddesses, three cosmic troublemakers, vampires, wizards, demons - the reader can feel sympathy with Conall for all the non-human entities interfering in his life.

With so much interfering going on, and with so many sub-plots it is hard to get a feel for the romance between Conall and Gerry. ( )
