Nee-To-Sheng of Foochow, China is known as Watchman Nee to hundreds of thousands of Christians around the world who have encountered his books. The Release of the Spirit is one of his most powerfully challenging works. Watchman Nee exhorts believers that through the breaking of the outward man there comes a release of the inward Spirit. By means of our brokenness the Spirit rejuvenates our faith and makes us fit for service. // Watchman Nee knew about suffering. In his native China he suffered as a Christian. And he witnessed the brokenness in thousands of Christians, created by unusually difficult circumstances. In the midst of such discomfort it remains a testimony to his insightfulness that he preached the spiritual value of suffering instead of dreaming for a better earthly life. The Release of the Spirit will challenge all who engage it today.… (plus d'informations)

Every single Christian in the world should read this book.... it is imperative that we know who the Holy Spirit is in our lives and Watchman Nee lays everything out so beautifully and succinctly for us in this little text! ( )

The greatest hindrances to the experience of the growth in life are not outward circumstances and environmental hardships; rather, they are a mind in need of renewing, a will in need of submission to God, and emotions in need of stability Watchman Nee provides a clear picture this.

Zero in on the vital importance of being sensitive and vulnerable to the work of the Holy Spirit. And you'll see why your inner attitude is far more important than your outward circumstances when it comes to fruitfulness and growth.

To be honest, I read this book almost 20 years ago. I'm not certain if I would still embrace as much of it as I did then. When I read it, it impacted me greatly and showed me my need for spiritual transformation on the inside. If nothing else, this book pushed me in the right direction. ( )

Short book on a deep topic - the need for Christians to be enlightened through the breaking down of the self/outer man - to become transparent. Nee focuses on the Biblical message of a new life, and how God works to peel off the husk of our self allow this life to grow and bloom. He discuss the counterfeit life of some Christians who are not broken, but just following the rules and pretending. His message is that everything that comes to a Christian in life is meaninful, not accidental, and intended to break us open. ( )
