This book provides interesting, true insight into the men who played in the Negro Baseball Leagues in the mid 1900s. The book contains short excerpts about different African American men who played in the separate league for "colored" players, and highlights their triumphs in the sport. Although I like how the book addresses this time in history, as it is an important thing for students to learn about, it spends more time discussing the victories of the players than the issue of having separate leagues. That being said, it is a good informational book about real men who played baseball during this time in history.
