When you read this story, you might be bewildered at first about how this is a love story - it starts off with Anna's childhood and subsequent traumas that help to shape who she becomes. It's quite heart-wrenching. As the book develops and she becomes an adult, she falls in love and thence begins the love story of two people who love each other deeply but one issue is slowly tearing them apart. From Anna's side, she's being asked to give up the one dream that has held her together through all her tumultuous years. Would you?
Obviously, the other side of the story is of her husband's childhood moulding and history, which I have yet to read. ( )

I wanted to read this book when I first got it but life happened and the arrival of other books as well. As is the case, this book ended up in my large tbr pile. When I was looking for something to read, I grabbed this book. After reading this book, I am kicking myself that I did not read it sooner.

I loved Anna. I am glad that this story is broken out into the span of two books. This way it really made Anna the focal point of this book. I did not have to sorry about any other characters but mainly her and her story. A sad but happy story it was too.

Anna could have given up but she didn't. In her search for family, she did find one as well as love in the form of Theo. I can't really say much about Theo as I don't know him as well as I do Anna but that is why I want to read Theo's story. To get to know him better and to see Anna again.

A is for awesome
N is for nice
N is for novelty
A is for Anna ( )

Anna's side of the story.
Anna is the first of a two book set and the second book, Theo, is due for release on March 8th. In this first book we hear Anna's story, in the second one we will get the other side of the coin. I'm hopeless at remembering the finer details in books, so I'm glad I won't have to wait too long for the sequel.

Amanda Prowse's characters have always struggled in some way, in The Food of Love it was anorexia and in The Art of Hiding it was bereavement and moving on. This time we meet Anna, left without family from an early age and struggling to find her place in the world. She meets Theo, himself a damaged man, full of hurt and resentment. Can they make a relationship work and live happily ever after?

The characterisations were excellent and the dialogue well done and I found myself looking forward to the opportunity to pick the book up and resume reading, which hasn't happened for a while. For me it didn't quite reach the level of The Art of Hiding or The Food of Love, but it was still an excellent read. I shall certainly be on the lookout for Theo's story in the near future. ( )
