After ending up in Hell, Hellboy tries to find the way out or at least figure out what to do now? Although he is for all means and purposes dead it looks like his constant fight with evil is nowhere at end. And many a soul tells him that he just traded the environment - his life and destiny have remain the very same.

While traversing the Hell he comes across entities and daemons he fought on Earth but also he comes across his family members, not many friendly to him and trying to kill him, family mansion destroyed and his father left in stasis.

Not to mention terror and fear that spread through Hell Lords when they heard Hellboy is coming. Fear of such a force that they have all ran from the Pandemonium only to be killed by their own servants while trying to reach the mountains of Hell.

And then something unimaginable happens - Hellboy's first step on road to fulfilling his destiny.

I wont go any further because to say anything more is to spoil the story to those that haven't read it.

Is the end rushed - maybe, but in general I don't see how author could end this any other way. Some level of mystery needs to remain and cycle of life repeats itself Hellboy's version of Hell rising from the ashes of the old one.

Highly recommended to all fans of fantasy, esoteric and occult. And of course Hellboy himself. ( )

I have to say, I was pretty disappointed with the ending. That is to say did this even have an ending? It felt a little rushed. I mostly like the art to this volume and the Dante/Milton fell of Hell. I still want more Helboy though, but not sure which spin-off are worth getting. If anyone has any ideas let me know. I doubt I'll be getting all the spin-off like I did with Fables. ( )
