This was a horrible book. It had just 1 setting and it was at school.Also, I only liked 1 part of this book.And it was when stargirl came to the nwe school and every one would say did you see her? And the stargirl was very quiet and she didnt talk much. Also she was very tallented she could play a instrument.But this book was not very good I did not enjoy it at all. ( )

This is an amazing book for young readers from fourth grade up. It is the story about a new girl who is very different from the rest of her peers. She has very unique habits and an appearance the children at her new school aren't used to. The story brings together two unlikely people who help to tell the tale of kindness and trust. The new girl marches to the beat of a different drummer and eventually encourages her class mates to find their own rhythm inside themselves. This book would be great in a classroom to:
-read together as a class over a period of time
-start a unit that revolves around on of the themes
-explore the author and other pieces he wrote
-think about the setting of the book
-compare and contrast the book to other books children may have read

This book was great about struggles between teenager are faceing through school and her not caring what anyones thinks. Stargirl is a nice girl trying to get through tuff times. She meets friends on the way. I liked how the author wrote in teenagers talk in real life. I could sence if her protecting her feelings.Stargirl is very open on how she feels.She not afaid to be herself.

This book is about this really weird girl that sings happy birthday to everyone and sends congrats etc, But to the school she goes to everyones the same and they don't like her because shes different, in this book is not her poit of view its leo's her boyfriend.

I really enjoyed reading this touching book about a teenager's struggle to balance his need for conformity with his love of the eccentricity of the new girl at school. Spinelli creates interesting characters who are well developed and who will speak to teen readers. Although teens may not like the adult perspective at the end of the novel, they will like how Spinelli deals with the issue of conformity and peer pressure. ( )
