Paddington at the Barber Shop by Michael Bond is a great children’s book. Michael Bond does a great job of mixing reality with imagination. He puts a great emphasis on how everyone can do whatever they set their mind too. By showcasing it through Paddington a bear it allows children to realize that although it may not seem logical it encourages kids to reach to the stars to achieve their dreams. Paddington also provides a sense of escape and entertainment to children through a fantasy viewpoint of a bear working and living alone in London. Bond also provides a sense of adventure and travel through his imagery and his word choice. Since the setting is London, England it creates a sense of excitement and wondering if they could ever visit the same places Paddington has. ( )
