In this second volume of French Minor Railways I have again tried to present a selection of lines that are little known yet repay study in so many ways....there are lines in the mountains, lines in the flatlands around Paris, a line running into Versailles and another that was for the sole use of the Emperor. Without them many of these lines would have disappeared into the mists of time....a lot of them closed beyond living memory and traces on the ground are few. Many of them simply ran along the verge of a convenient road so trying to trace the route is all but impossible, especially if road improvements have taken place since the line closed. The postcards are a lifeline, our window into a vanished age when the speed of a metre gauge train was as fast as most people needed to travel.… (plus d'informations)
