This was sweet but ultimately Booker pissed me off with his "i've loved her forever but I don't believe in love or whatever so I don't love her". Also, long-con miscommunication/misunderstanding is my least favorite trope. ( ) I tried so hard, even after 4% and a terrible, juvenile STD joke (sorry, don't love stigma around any diseases. Like saying lung cancer is deserved if you exhibit risk behavior. STIs can have devastating consequences and are not funny to me, I guess. Iirc, this is a typical fallback and I struggled with rape and promiscuity jokes in the second of this series.) I was saying I tried, but I became quickly fatigued. I don't have it in me. Enjoyable read I love sports romances, they're probably my favorite sub-genre. The Male lead as an athlete is so good and the series being about brothers is great. I like that we continue to see the other Harris's in each story and get updates about their lives. Booker was so sad and I'm glad he has someone like Poppy to be his sunshine and make him smile. This story was super cute and I highly recommend the series. I'm new to Ms. Daws' work, but have already fallen hard. Poppy and Booker are a reminder that the people we need and love are the one's we take for granted the most. There was always that hint of something more hovering in the background, but life got in the way and feelings were a casualty of that. Against the backdrop of sports and the nostalgia of old friendships, two people set about rebuilding a bond never meant to be broken and find love along the way. Keeper proves that the best love stories are the one's that take their time to develop into something more. What a great book! This is my first from this author, and I must say I have already purchased the rest of the series. Amy Daws is an author that I have added to my must read list for every new book she writes. In Keeper, Booker Harris invites his childhood best friend Poppy McAdams to live in his flat for a few months until hers becomes available. It has been a few years since they have actually seen each other, only communicating through texts and emails. When he opens the door to see what an amazing woman she has grown to be, all of those old feelings come back with a vengeance. While trying to reclaim their friendship, and discover what the new feelings mean, Book and Pop go through all of the emotions and awkward moments that roommates share. The sexual tension is intense until that drunken moment where they throw caution to the wind and go for it. Loved this book! Cannot wait to dive into the rest of the series. aucune critique | ajouter une critique
Appartient à la sérieHarris Brothers (3)
They were best friends until they became roommates. Booker Harris has spent the last several years pushing himself to become the best goalkeeper in the Championship League. Tired of living in the shadows of his headline-splashing brothers, he has finally carved a path of his own. As a child, Poppy McAdams was content in her own little make-believe world, until the boy next door with dimples and pained eyes came barreling into her makeshift fort demanding all her attention. Best friends for most of their lives, everything changes when Poppy abruptly leaves London for University. Now she is back, and gone is the awkward girl from Booker's youth. She has been replaced by a stunning woman with secrets. Secrets that Booker is desperate to know. Sharing a bedroom wall with your best friend from childhood quickly turns to anything but sweet and innocent. Aucune description trouvée dans une bibliothèque |
