Louisa Clark arrives in New York ready to start a new life, confident that she can embrace this new adventure and keep her relationship with Ambulance Sam alive across several thousand miles. She is thrown into the world of the superrich Gopniks: Leonard and his much younger second wife, Agnes, and a never-ending array of household staff and hangers-on. Lou is determined to get the most out of the experience and throws herself into her job and New York life within this privileged world. Before she knows what's happening, Lou is mixing in New York high society, where she meets Joshua Ryan, a man who brings with him a whisper of her past. In Still Me, as Lou tries to keep the two sides of her world together, she finds herself carrying secrets--not all her own--that cause a catastrophic change in her circumstances. And when matters come to a head, she has to ask herself Who is Louisa Clark? And how do you reconcile a heart that lives in two places?… (plus d'informations)

Full Disclosure - this was an unedited, pre-release Goodreads win.

This is book 3 in the "Me Before You" trilogy. Not sure if there will be another one in the series. This book picks up Louisa's (Lou) story after she stops caring for Will Traynor and dealing with her emotions and feelings afterward. It continues with her relationships built from the previous book, "After You". In this book, Louisa reunites with Nate in New York working for a wealthy family as an assistant to the wife. She discovers that, while this life in NY is totally different than her life in England, she really enjoys it but misses home and her family. She is seeing everyone around her (both in NY and England) moving on with their lives and, by the end of the book, it is her time to move on. ( )

A sequel to Me Before You and After You. Louisa leaves Sam in England to take a job being the assistant to Agnes Gopnik, the young wife of a extremely wealthy man. He divorced his previous wife, who still maintains a prescence in his society circles. Agnes does not come from these circles and feels out of place and unliked. Louisa is there to be her right hand woman and to ?hold? her hand to help her cope in social situations. Louisa gets very involved in upper class life as Agnes? assistant and gains more confidence. Sam, meanwhile, is still in England building a home and being a paramedic. He does not to write and Louisa finds herself quite lonesome. When they do get together , something always seems to get in the way of their relationship. Sam has trouble expressing his feelings for Louisa and Louisa is feeling betrayed by Sam for his supposed relationship with Sam?s new paramedic partner. Sam thinks Louisa is falling for another man. It?s all about insecurity and not talking honestly about their situations. In the end, Sam moves to New York to be with Louisa as she grows a vintage clothing business. Maybe a new book will be written to follow up on their life together.Kirkus: Master of cheerful uplift Moyes brings her British Everygirl heroine, Louisa Clark, back for a third go-round, this time sending her on an adventurous year in New York City. After the death of Will, the wealthy paraplegic with whom she fell in love while working as his caretaker in Me Before You (2012), Lou found the promise of new love with paramedic Sam in After You (2015). Now she's ready to take on the kind of adventure Will always encouraged and Sam agrees she needs to experience, even if it means they have a trans-Atlantic relationship for a year. Her friend Nathan has found her a job as an assistant to the wife of his New York employer, Leonard Gopnik. Lou moves into the Gopniks' huge apartment at a prestigious Fifth Avenue address, and the novel?s strong early pages record her dizzy fascination with Manhattan. But the job is harder and New York lonelier than expected. Agnes Gopnik, who's recently arrived from Poland and was Leonard?s masseuse before becoming his second wife, finds navigating Upper East Side society a strain, to say the least. She leans on Lou as a purported friend, but Lou will learn to her dismay that a friendship between employer and servant can be slippery to maintain. So can long-distance romance. She suspects Sam?s relationship with his new partner at work might be growing more than professional, while she herself is pursued by an up-and-coming businessman who is not only charming, but bears a disconcerting resemblance to Will. Unfortunately, Lou no longer seems as fresh or endearing as she did in the earlier books. Her wit feels strained. Even her eccentric fashion sense has grown a bit annoying. Secondary characterslike the Gopniks? elderly neighbor Mrs. DeWitt, devoted to her dog and not as mean as she seems; or Ashok, the doorman whose chaotically happy marriage provides contrast to the Gopniks?Â¥end up more engaging than the protagonists. There is something lackadaisical about the writing here that makes getting through all the plot twists a slog.

This is the Louisa I was waiting after Will’s death.. discovering herself.. using her full “potential” as Will said.. This is the book which you just can not put away.. you have to find what happens next. It shows how Lou has evolved since last we saw her in After You. That Lou was mourning over Will’s death and not doing anything else. When there is an entry of Josh and details about how he looked same like Will, I was skeptical. William Traynor has left his “stamp” on Lou and no one could replace him. There are some point in this book where Lou’s stint at Gopniks have stretched far too much. Though it supported the real plot, but I think if we could have got some of her struggles with new business then her success was more enjoyable than reading letters. Will’s letters made me sad though.. Something about it makes me want to read Me before you again..
To be honest, this is the better version of Louisa than After you! Loved it! ( )

Basically escapist literature but very effectively so. I found myself fully engaged with the characters and the plot although one might well have guessed the ending. Definitely a feel good book. ( )

It was the mustache that reminded me I was no longer in England: a solid, gray millipede firmly obscuring the man's upper lip; a Village People mustache, a cowboy mustache, the miniature head of a broom that meant business.

"...You shut a library, Louisa, you don't just shut down a building, you shut down hope."
I thought about the fact that there seemed to be such a high cost to anything a woman chose to do with her life, unless she simply aimed low.
There is a great consolation in simply doing something you love.
