Le chef-d' oeuvre de Dante, un long poème construit à lamanière d'un récit initiatique, d'une épopée métaphysique. Enfer, Purgatoire, Paradis : l'ouvrage est composé de trois cantiques au lyrisme ascensionnel. L'auteur creuse la symbolique chrétienne mais surtout les tréfonds de l'âme humaine, nullement effrayé par lanoirceur qu'il y entrevoit.
