Although this is not an original Dr. Seuss book, the illustrations and diction of the text follows so closely, you don't necessarily notice. BUT, the entirety of the book is spent surveying the different levels, and wildlife of a rain forest, so it's message is more science driven and, well semi-preachy. It's important to understand the rain forests do need to be saved, but it's also important to recognize this book does not follow the typical ridiculousness of a Dr. Seuss original. ( ) In my opinion, this is a good book. I liked this book for two reasons. First, I liked that the language was patterned. The author used rhyming words on every page such as, “The seasonal kind has months that are dry. A cloud rain forest sits three thousand feet high.” The language used made the book more fun and easy to follow along. The second reason I liked this book is because of the illustrations. The illustrations enhance the story and provide greater detail towards the text. Part of the text says, “It keeps rain and sun off the floors down below. It’s also the place where the epiphytes grow.” Along with this text, there is an illustration of large, thick trees with vines, roots and plants that creates a sense of what epiphytes are. The big idea of this story was to show what a tropical rain forest is through dialogue and pictures. aucune critique | ajouter une critique
