But this book was fun, witty and hilarious. I was looking for something to read that would break up the darkness that i love about Paranormal romances. This book fit the bill. I found the characters and the plot to be interesting and entertaining. This is the first book I have read from RJ Blain it certainly will not be my last. I look forward to reading more in this series and from this author. ( ) Thuis is a great book that starts one of my favorite series. This one is the first about Bailey and Quin. I can identify with Bailey with most of the things, I just can’t transform into a fire breathing unicorn, aka cindercorn. If you need a fun read with a possibility to read on, this is your book. Fun, I like Bailey and Sam. She's got serious self-esteem problems, and he doesn't have enough - but between them, they make an excellent couple. It's very obvious much earlier than the actual reveal - intentionally, I'm sure. The bloodlines are...well, silly. And the family is crazy, as usual for Blain. Very enjoyable and I'm delighted there's two more books about them. This was a cute and fun storyline. The plot is interesting enough for a book you can quickly read. There are a couple plot holes, but nothing too irritating. I really enjoyed the sarcasm and banter. My only true qualm is with the easy acceptance the protagonist displays with her parents abuse past and present. There is a case for that in truth, given how long term abuse manifests in victims; but she seemed capable of standing up for herself in other interactions, so her lack of ability to properly frame her parents and their abusive ways was bothersome. There was also a bit of a rush in the developments of her romantic interest, but considering the genre and all of the species included in the book reality suspension was to be expected. Overall an entertaining and enjoyable read I'd recommend to anyone who enjoys sarcasm with a large dose of chaos. A funny mess The banter is hilarious. The world is complex. The pace is fast and the plot moves consistently. My only issue is that the main character is a bit too snarky. And between her and her police chief, they are way over powered. I also question how the world actually works with gorgons and incubus and sucubus and angels and werewolves and...it is a little forced to make it a believable world. Still, I liked it. I would buy a sequel. aucune critique | ajouter une critique

Add in his ex-wife angling for revenge, and Bailey must use every trick up her sleeve to survive. The last thing she needs is to fall in love with Manhattan's Most Wanted Bachelor.
