Have read a lot of these and have enjoyed most, if not all of them.

They are clunky, and unrealistic, but fun none the less.

He uses a number of stock phrases over and over again.

and the legal jargon is incorrect, as if written by a non lawyer.

For example. page 49 has a description of a filing system which differentiates between:
- contracts
- agreements
- real estate transactions [ which presumably are documented by contracts or agreements!]

But does it stop me reading them? No, of course not

In "The Case of the Horrified Heirs", it looks like Lauretta Trent's greedy relatives are trying to poison the old girl by slipping arsenic into the spicy Mexican food she loves so much. When that doesn't seem to work quickly enough, they stage a road accident that leaves Lauretta's car in the ocean and Virginia Baxter holding the keys to the car that ran Lauretta off the road. (

I really liked this one. Once Perry figured one fact out, the case unraveled neatly. It was gripping from beginning to end. (
