In this third edition, the authors explore differences and similarities between teaching traditional students and non-traditional students sometimes termed adult learners. Some in the book also argue that the vast majority of college students achieve the status of adult learner as they progress through the degree. One new addition in this edition is a discussion on andragogy (teaching adult learners) and whether it is a subset of or is different than pedagogy. This book may have additional relevance in times when older students are returning to the classroom.
