The story of Hilda the Hippo who tries to make a day fully romantic, but instead ruins almost every situation. Finally, at the end of the day she is discouraged and upset. Her friends tell her that real life is better than all the fantasy days ever imagined.

This story follows Hilda as she tries to show that fairy tales can come true by setting up Bruno and Miss Honey. They travel through many disasters as they both fall in love. This is a fun story but not one I would pick to read to a class. It would be best for secong thought fourth grade readers.

I think that this book is great for all children, but mostly focuses on little girls. Every little girl likes to have tea parties and this book makes having a tea party look like fun! Everything goes wrong for Hilda in this book, but in the end everything turned out okay.
