George and Martha are dear friends and James Marshall makes the relationship work for all its worth. This is a great book for lower level readers to practice using pictures and textual clues to infer actions and feelings.

This book is suitable for young children grades K-3. It can be a good read aloud book, as well as a good book for students to try reading on their own. The words are simple and fairly easy for emergent readers to attempt. The book is a compilation of five short stories about two hippos who are best friends. They value their friendship with each other even though they don't always agree. I loved this book because it teaches children that even if they don't get along with their friends sometimes, they will still remain friends. This book can be used as a social story and well as a way to get young students exposed to literacy. ( )

The book shows how important a friend really is. Even though you may get into fights you should always learn to forgive them. I love the characters and how they are animals. I think books with animals as the characters are more eye catching to a young child and keeps them interested in the story being read. ( )

George and Martha, give annoying birthday presents, and use their imagination and paint pictures, and play tricks and through it all they manage to remain friends.

A chapter book that tells the stories about different situations in which friends find themselves. George and Martha go to the beach, surprise one another, work through hardships and are still best friends through it all.
