Since the King liked the richest things, when his two tailors told him they could sew some magical clothing he desperately wanted it.
The two tailors came back with the Kings new outfit for a big event. However, it was invisible because only the true, good, honest, loyal, and smart can see it. They convince the king to wear it for the big event.
Once he stepped outside with his "magical outfit" (for the big event) everyone in the Kingdom said nothing to the king.
The only one who stood up, after a while, was a little toad that said: "Look King Long Shanks is bare. his fine long strong legs and everything!"
The king then realizes that he has been tricked by the two tailors. He was standing in front of the whole kingdom completely naked like a fool.
Repetition: "The small tailor stretched very high and the tall tailor squatted very low"
This book reminds me of the story, " The Emperor with No Clothes".
Theme: Greed. Just because someone says an object will make you the best of the best, there is a chance you will be tricked sooner or later. Wealth and power will not be kind to you if you abuse it with greed.
Theme: Loyalty. The frogs of the kingdom thought they were given their King all of their loyalty by not talking against him. Even though his legs were average for a Frog, they still told the King his legs were the best. Everyone learned their lesson, including the king, when the King stood in front of his people naked. ( )
