Involves football foxes ghosts and leicester a good fictional book by a well selling author Terrible. OK, this is a children's book, and I am not a 6 year old boy, so maybe my review should just be 'wasn't for me, moving on'. But I was really looking forward to a book about foxes and Richard the III, and this didn't deliver. The foxes aren't very foxy (they are really any other normal family, with some tedious gender stereotypes - the mum hunts 'good' foord, and the dad always finds pizza and chips, there are four children, but it is the one boy who is smarter and gets to go and watch the football / have adventures etc) and Richard III isn't very Richard III ish, just strangely annoyed about Shakespeare (how did he even find out about Shakespeare when he's buried in a car park?). It is a problem with trying to make stories short for children while still allowing characters to change and repent, but his sudden changes of mood are very odd. On the other hand, it is really cool they found the body of Richard III in a car park, and it's pretty cool that complete outsiders Foxes football club won the league. So if you want a book about both those things that takes about 15 minutes to read, this may be the book for you. aucune critique | ajouter une critique
A delightful tale of victory against all odds from master storyteller, Michael Morpurgo, lavishly illustrated by Michael Foreman. "Every fox in the whole town, in the whole country just about, is a football fan... And we all have an impossible dream." In a cosy den under a garden shed lives a family of foxes. They love to watch football - all foxes do. But their favourite team keeps losing and losing, and it seems like things will never look up. That is, until Daddy Fox finds the ghost of a king, buried underneath a car park. A king who wishes only to be free. "Release me," says the Ghost King, "and I can do anything. Just tell me your greatest wish." For these football-loving foxes, might everything be about to change...' Aucune description trouvée dans une bibliothèque |
