A really cute companion to Hungry Bunny, this time with a skiing adventure. I think "Bunny Slopes" is getting a lower review from me because I have done it about 10 times the last few weeks ;) It is an enjoyable story that is interactive. Children are encouraged to shake, tap, tilt, etc. I find books such as these are always a sure fire winner in storytimes. I also love how simple the illustrations are. They don't need to be overt or over the top! Recommended by Ms. B. A bunny is going skiing, and invites the reader along. "But where's all the snow? Maybe we can MAKE some!" The bunny invites the reader to shake the book, tip it, tilt it more...and help the skiing adventure along. See also: other interactive books like Tap the Magic Tree, Press Here, and Mix It Up; Huff & Puff (also by Claudia Rueda) Illustrations are charcoal and digital; mostly white snow, pale blue sky, and a red scarf for the bunny, with the bunny, skis, and trees sketched in charcoal. * Re-read December 2019 ~ review copy provided Cute and clever, BUNNY SLOPES has a lot going for it. For one there is the cute artwork. But more than that I like the chatty, conversational tone that draws kids in. Bunny talks directly to them and even asks kids to interact with the book to help out with the day on the slopes. Children are asked to shake and tap and turn the book to help Bunny out with a day on the slopes. WRITTEN at the beginning 1st Grade level (Lexile: 360L), BUNNY SLOPES should appeal to younger children too. 183 words. Shake it, tilt it, turn it upside down. Read this book with my 2 year old niece and she was so amazed that she was able to help the bunny ski, her favourite part was having to shake the book to bring the snow (but not too much). Illustrations were simple but told the whole story. A great interactive book that everyone will enjoy. @claudiarueda aucune critique | ajouter une critique
