For fans of the Disney Renaissance Era and everything preceding it, this book is an invaluable source of lovely illustrations and up to date information. My only qualm is that the author can be particularly biased in a selection of the articles within. I would not suggest this book to someone who would read it thoroughly, cover to cover, if he or she wishes to keep untainted opinions on certain films and shorts, especially those of Disney's more difficult years. However, if you are simply wanting a quick reference guide to the films, or to learn a little more information about your favorite characters, this book would be a great pick. Overall, I'm happy to have it within my collection. ( )

A lovely, large, sumptiously illustrated reference encyclopedia of the Walt Disney cartoon characters, up to the print date. Arranged in three parts (the shorts, the television series, and the features), with a filmography of the features and illustrated articles on just about all the characters therein. The illustrations are not particularly large, but are well-reproduced; this is more of an illustrated reference book than an art book per se. ( )
