I have read this once before in the Anthology 'Night Shift'. I have to say I enjoyed it more this time around.
It's about Bastien (a leopard changeling) and Kirby. Kirby thinks she is human. Bastien knows she is his mate. Her smell sometimes seems human and sometimes changeling cat. But, it is never strong enough for either. She is very shy, but has a strong personality. As he gets to know and understand her more, the answers come to him.
The story is very romantic and affectionate.
It is not 'Erotica'. There is only one lovemaking scene and it is quite mild. A few words could be considered 'Adult', but there is nothing I would consider crude nor obscene.
It is well written and flows easily. Nalini Singh, as usual, shows her talent in both world building and writing characters that are easy to care for and connect to. ( )

My twin sister has been telling me to read this series for years and despite liking the other Nalini Singh's I had read I never got around to reading it. After reading these books I can't imagine why I hesitated to read them ; they are really good. The story is fresh and original, the writing style is engaging and the characters are so well written that you truly get invested in their lives. I have enjoyed all the books in this series psy, changeling and human as they are all fascinating in their own way. ( )

We are taken back into the Psy-Changeling world in Secrets At Midnight by [a:Nalini Singh|71688|Nalini Singh|https://d2arxad8u2l0g7.cloudfront.net/authors/1423312512p2/71688.jpg].

I was pulled in from the moment it starts to the very end. I love this world and can never get enough.

Bastien is a leopard changeling, so we get to see some of our old friends. He is intelligent, witty, and a little wicked. Loved him. Kirby is human or is she? She has not had a great life so far, but things are about to get interesting.

The relationship development and growth is lovely and to see Kirby finally learn what love means, heartwarming.

You don’t have to have read any of the Psy-Changeling books to pick this up. Secrets At Midnight gives you a nice taste into the world of the Changelings and what it means to find a mate. I highly recommend picking up Nalini Singh’s books.
