Very traumatic

CW - torture and death of kids.

This has so far been the hardest hitting St Cyr book for me. I hate anything that has to do with kids suffering.

Also anyone else suspecting someone somewhere of poisoning someone? ( )

This is truly one of my all time favorite series. The author creates believable characters within a realistic view of England with all its beauty and flaws. This installment was heart wrenching to read and so worth the time ( )

WHERE THE DEAD LIE is book 12 in the Sebastian St. Cyr series. I have to admit that this series is one of my favorites, as I have read all twelve books in the series. So, I was quite overjoyed when I got the chance to reading this book a couple of months before it was released. So far, not a single book in this series disappointed me and I'm quite thrilled to be able to say that this book is actually the best one so far.

This one feels like the darkest of the series so far. Content Warning: pedephelia, rape, murder, serial killer, torture I didn't mind the dark subject matter, but there were a couple kinda plot-gap areas, nothing too terrible, but enough to anchor it to 3 stars. I like the characters though and the historical details. ( )
