Touches some serious subjects, but mostly a playful, humorous novel. I've read both better and worse things by the same author. (

A warm hearted and funny journey through the confused lives and emotions of a disparate bunch of people who seem to have come to a stand still in their lives. And a toad. I still haven't really worked out what the toad is all about or what he adds to the story. 25 September 2017. (

A wonderful story about a 50 year old man who meets a talking toad, goes on a road trip through the Highlands of Scotland and meets up with many strange, unusual people along the way, plus drinks some very fine whisky!
A great read and highly recommended.
