The characters, the themes, even the plot need to be developed more to be interesting and complete. That being said, the book is far better than the most polished bestsellers of our time. It is disappointing that this was Emily's only novel as she showed a great deal of promise in this first work. ( ) This book is so wonderfully dark and brooding and filled with comeuppance and revenge and hurt feelings and oppressive nature and horrible and wonderful humanity that I think everyone in the entire world should grab a copy and read it right away. I would want these books if I could have no others. Wuthering Heights is the greatest gothic romance of all time. Soulmates, torn apart, but each haunting the other forevermore. Only someone who has found his or her soulmate can truly appreciate this novel. --JJM 10/10/05 I've loved this book and read it many times. Reading what Jim wrote above and in his comments on "Villette" makes me even more grateful for the Bronte novels. They brought him to his teaching career and thus to me. I'm so lucky to have found my soulmate! --RJM 10/11/05 aucune critique | ajouter une critique
