"Sara Adams awakes blind, unable to remember the most basic details of her life, but her darkness seems a blessing when she discovers the terrors of The Light. Stella Montgomery investigates the news from the mean streets of Detroit, where she's noticed a disturbing trend: young women are vanishing. When her best friend disappears, Stella digs for answers--despite warnings from her police detective boyfriend--following a twisted trail that leads her through the city's most dangerous and forsaken precincts. There she uncovers something more sinister than she could have imagined: a shadowy organization known as The Light, led by the enigmatic Father Gabriel. As Sara struggles to understand her place in the strange world she's awakened to--an oppressive cult demanding unquestioning obedience--and her feelings for Jacob, the husband she can't recall and whose harsh and tender attentions confuse and beguile her, Stella risks all to discover the truth. But enlightenment always comes with a price . . ."--Page 4 of cover.… (plus d'informations)

Into the Light by Aleatha Romig is the third book I have read by this author but I can guarantee it won’t be my last. I started my journey with Ms Romig with the first two books of her Consequences series (and I am waiting for a friend of mine to say she is ready to read the third before I read it on my own.

I loved this book just as much as I loved the other two I read previously. It’s dark and twisty and it keeps you guessing until the very last page. This book is so well put together that the lies that are wrapped in the romance really hold you captive to see who Sara Adams is? What role Stella plays in this whole web of lies and whose loyalties lie with whom?

The plot of Into the Light is twofold, as Aleatha Romig alternates her story between Sara, Jacob and Stella’s first person points of view. Sara Adams awakens in a hospital bed with no eyesight and no memory whatsoever of what came before. She’s injured and completely dependent upon Jacob Adams, a husband she cannot remember. A husband who has complete responsibility for her actions and care.

Stella Montgomery is an investigative journalist who works for WCJB in Detroit. Her best friend and coworker Mindy has disappeared. In fact, there’s been a rash of women who have disappeared from the Detroit area. Stella is on a mission to find out who or what is behind their disappearances – and to find and bring her friend home.
Hands down a 5 Delightfully dark Stars from me. I was lucky enough to be granted a copy of Away from the Dark so I can’t wait to see how this story continues.

Half way through I figured out this was a romance novel. I thought I was reading a mystery /thriller. When Jacob was described as having a large p and Sara was exaggeratedly orgasmic I knew. I then thought this was some kind of 50 shades masochist thing. The whole woman wanting to be subjugated romance. So I finished the novel and was angry that this is a part 1 and the novel does not even finish. The only positive is I have read another book outside of my genre preference. ( )

This book sounded a little trite at first - a story of someone who wakes up not knowing who they are. But it was pretty unique, and believable to me. And at the end, a big surprise which caused me to start on the 2nd book of the series right away.

This is one of those books where a lot of the main action is not what it seems to be. I can't wait to find out what happens. ( )

I really enjoyed the story and will read the next in the series.
I read most of this as an audio book and found it easy to follow.
It is an easy book to read, however, I found some of the intimate scenes unnecessarily graphic and some of the character portrayal a bit shallow
It is definitely the plot that makes me want to read on. ( )

Sara wakes up in a hospital. She's blindfolded and can't remember a thing from her past. A string of Brothers and Sisters and her husband tell her she's been in a car crash but everything will be alright. She's part of a cult named The Light, somewhere in Northern Alaska.

At the same time Stella is looking for her missing friend Mindy, and also sees more and more things connected to The Light.

It was kind of a creepy read, right from the start. The cult got on my nerves really quickly, but I could understand Sara's confusion and that that's why she's not really fighting back. The romance I thought was meh at best. The three different POVs were not really necessary in my eyes, as was the huge cliffhanger at the end. However, it had me guessing to the end and I just want to know how it will end! Luckily the second and final book is expected in October.

Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for providing me with a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review! ( )
