The chapters instantly become cohesive, and the pace that Tomasi took works well once the pieces are placed together. Overall, the story was enjoyable, and I liked how, even though the premise could be compared to All-Star Superman, it takes a different route that makes this take refreshing and interesting. Rebirth has been a highly enjoyable creative direction, and this TPB definitely got me interested in the follow-up Superman stories. The hardcover edition is worth it. When it comes to extra material, it contains variant covers and some bonus interior illustrations before inking. I obtained a copy of this graphic novel through First Reads at Goodreads, in exchange of an honest review. Well, that's definitely a way to start a TPB. Heh. Lots going on again. Superman has gone through a lot in a relatively small amount of time. Fire Pits of Apokolips, Battle with Rao, the Kryptonite Chemo, and other stuff too. He's dying. There's also a bunch of China stuff which was interesting, and then there's a story of a crazy Solar Superman too. There was more with Lois and Superman, which was very good, although there was also quite a bit with Superman and Wonder Woman, which I didn't like as much. I do have to say that while I mostly enjoyed this TPB, I think (and if you want a much better Superman is dying TPB) that All Star Superman is where it's at for sure. Still, this paves the way for Superman Rebirth, a title that I like a lot so far, so it's not an all bad TPB at all. I got this ARC through Netgalley on behalf of DC Entertainment. aucune critique | ajouter une critique
"It's a new chapter in the Man of Steel's life that will change everything you know in the epic eight-part SUPERMAN: THE FINAL DAYS OF SUPERMAN, all written by Peter J. Tomasi (BATMAN AND ROBIN)! Superman... is dying. His never-ending battles have finally taken their toll on Kal-El, and with time short he reaches out to unite his friends and loved ones for what comes next. Meanwhile, a new sinister force's machinations will see to it that Man of Steel will not go quietly into the night, but instead enter into a life and death struggle with another being forged from the very energies of the Kryptonian's solar flare power now claiming to be the true Superman!"-- Aucune description trouvée dans une bibliothèque |

Very disjointed artwork, no real plot, and all sorts of inexplicable plot threads introduced and left hanging. This one was quite disappointing. ( )
