I enjoyed the plot, and how we got to see some more of the world. I did, however, feel like this was just too short, and not enough happened. It really focused on one event and it was done well, but I wanted more things to happen. I'll definitely continue this series though :) This book is definitely an improvement over the first book, having no threat of sexual assault to get the point across that someone is evil. The after story however mentions slavers which is almost treading back into that territory. The book however seems to change up some of the characters skin colors for some odd reason. Beck goes from being black to being "bronze" which reads to me that he has a much lighter skin tone. Another factor that's still there is the reliance on Leonidas to get them all out of a situation with his cyborg powers. Which once again means our hero has to rely on a man to bail her out of a situation. It's getting better slowly. aucune critique | ajouter une critique

After spending four years fighting for the Alliance, fighter pilot Alisa Marchenko only wants one thing: to reunite with her young daughter. But this involves a journey to her former home world, which has become the last imperial stronghold. Since the imperials have a lot of reasons to loathe members of the Alliance right now, just getting down to the planet will be a challenge, and it doesn't help that her passengers are stirring up trouble of their own...Even if Alisa is able to land, she may find that more questions await her than answers, and that her late husband kept a startling secret from her, one that could change her life forever.
