The Shadow in the Attic (6.0)- And yet another story about a dead relative haunting a house that the new young relative comes to inhabit. The old guy tries to steal his nephew's body but his girl friend burns the house down first. Cool succubus maid.
The Horror from the Middle Span (6.0)- Co-authored with August Derelith. Yet another story where someone from England comes to the America to dwell in a house of a relative with a mysterious cellar and tunnels. In the past they killed the relative and encased him in stone with an elder sign in the middle of a river (Flowing water). The prison breaks, the main character finds bones brings them to house and the relative is back again abducting people. Pitchforks and torches follow and they flee leaving the manuscript behind.
Witches' Hollow (6.5) - A new teacher visits a promising student only to find that his family lives in an evil place. Gets help from a local professor who casts out the possessing demons from space and burns the house down. The family is saved and no one dies or goes insane. Kind of strange for a Lovecraft story.
The Shuttered Room (6.0) - Add this to the list of stories where a relative that's not crazy comes to inherit a house from his cthulhu worshipping family. I can't believe how many times Lovecraft used this as a plot device. Maybe he wrote a bunch of stories like this and never planed on publishing them all just picking the best one. Instead they all got published. Not a bad story though.
The Dark Brotherhood (5.5) -Definitely different but not that good. Great ones come to earth and make a bunch of clones of Edgar Allen Poe. The main character finds out about their diabolical plan and burns down their house. Gets arrested. ( )
