Complete your Divergent library with the Four stories!

Fans of the Divergent series by #1 New York Times bestselling author Veronica Roth will be excited by "Four: The Traitor," the fourth of four stories, each between fifty and seventy-five pages long, set in the world of Divergent and told from Tobias's point of view.

"The Traitor" takes place two years after "The Son" and runs parallel with the early events in Divergent. In this robust story, readers follow Tobias as he uncovers the details of an Erudite plan that could threaten the faction system, and makes plans of his own to keep Abnegation safe. At the same time, Tobias is getting to know a new transfer initiate: Tris Prior.

And don't miss The Fates Divide, Veronica Roth's powerful sequel to the bestselling Carve the Mark!

I absolutely loved the first book in this series but the quality definitely went down with each subsequent book not to mention THAT ENDING!!!! I do find the world and characters created by Veronica Roth to be fresh, engaging, and well written. ( )

The final installment of the Four stories overlaps with the beginnings of Divergent. Having seemingly settled into a role within the Dauntless faction, Tobias has never let his guard down, especially when it comes to faction leadership. And these suspicions lead him to uncover a plan that both shocks and worries him, while he has little time to decide how to react...

This one was interesting because it's the only one of the stories that overlaps with one of the original books. It provides for a more complete story and knowing what Tobias knew makes me want to go back and re-read the first book to see if there are any hints in the text. But, that aside, this is a fitting end to the series and a great way to tie these back into the trilogy itself. It feels a bit rushed at a couple of points, but I think that's because a knowledge of the series is assumed, so there is no need to expand on the information that one should already know. ( )

Well, I finished the first 0.4 books plus the 1.5. So, now all there is to do is to read Insurgent whenever I feel like picking it up (after I get it that is..and I haven't checked the mail today) :-)

The novellas seemed to have been getting better as they went along...And with this one, I found out things I didn't know about in Divergent. The things Four did that weren't mentioned in Divergent and of course, I got to see his thoughts about what was going on in his mind during certain situations. But, there really isn't a whole lot I can say about this one either other than I enjoyed this one a lot as well. :-)

And I'm done! What a great exit out of the entire Veronica Roth Divergent land, for me anyway. It's a little heartbreaking to pick up the Four miniseries *after* having plowed through the main books, but if you've been following my reviews, the trainwreck finale isn't the best section of time in this landscape to relive anyway. I loved the way this book overlapped with the timeline of Divergent so that we get to see more of the Tris and Four interactions from Tobias' point of view, just like in Free Four. Some of the mysterious qualities of Four are stripped away when the story is told from his angle but it's a fantastic character development. We learn his fears, flaws, naiveness, and the inherent qualities he seems to possess as a result of his upbringing and broken childhood.

I find it hard to imagine that no one in Abnegation remembered or saw much of Tobias while he was still in that faction. He had to have left the house to go to school and he must've had schoolmates at some point. Unless that's not a thing in this society? I guess I'm still left with many burning questions after going through all the books.

I thoroughly enjoyed this short and final installment of the Four stories, though it sometimes felt a little too short. Yes, I already know what happens but I think maybe just getting to know Tobias/Four some more before all hell broke loose is preferable to being robbed of an appropriate and respectable ending to the long and torturous journey Roth took us through. And I know I keep complaining about Allegiant, guys, but c'mon! What was *that* about? ( )
