( ) Jeph Loeb and Tim Sale continue their Marvel Color Books series with Captain America: White. The series began with issue zero, published in September 2008, and then stalled out. It appeared that Loeb and Sale would never complete it, until issue one came out in November 2015 followed by the remaining four issues over the next several months. In this collected volume, Loeb and Sale explore Cap's relationship with Bucky and what it meant to lose him. Even though Ed Brubaker resurrected Bucky as the Winter Soldier in the time between issues zero and one, Loeb and Sale's book is set just after Cap waking up, prior to him learning of Bucky's survival. This younger version of Cap struggles with what it means to wear the flag of his country, what role he will play in liberating France from the Nazis with the aid of the French, what morals he can carry into war, and how to protect Bucky, who is like a younger brother that he brought into a war zone. The artwork brilliantly captures the adventurism of the Simon and Kirby stories while retaining Sale's style. Captain America: White continues Loeb and Sale's partnership in excellent storytelling and is a fitting addition to the color books in addition to being a great Cap story. aucune critique | ajouter une critique
