Bullets are flying, and people are dying as Alex, Bree, and Sampson join the FBI to track vigilante killers. After their boss, Chief of Detectives Tom McGrath is gunned down in cold blood, the DCPD is focused on finding his killer. But they are soon diverted by several mass shootings. The killers are highly trained mercenaries and seem to be on a mission to exterminate their idea of vermin, no matter how many innocents are collateral damage. Bree and Alex get beat up pretty good in this one. Fast-moving and action-packed, this was a great book without much fluff. Nana Mama, and the kids make minor appearances. ( ) I have been reading more audiobooks lately on my commute. As a long time fan of the Alex Cross series I decided to check this audio out. The narrators of the books were wonderful and the sound effects gave more of a thrilling effect than I would have ever gotten reading the words on a page. As always, this Alex Cross novel does not disappoint. Book #24 in the Alex Cross series. Following probably his best one in a decade (Cross Justice), this one returns to the mundane, same old tired scripts: a daring, vigilante road rage killer on a powerful motorcycle, the D.C. chief of detective's and his girlfriend's drive-by murders, and a military-style terrorist group killing drug and human smugglers, but leaving the spoils behind. There is some interesting stuff about the Cross family, but I think Bree's insecurities about being the new chief were silly. We need more John Sampson in the next book. One of the better Alex Cross stories in the past couple of years. Found this a much more intriguing story than many of Patterson's recent mysteries. The villains fit in perfectly with what is happening today in America making this more timely and one we could imagine actually happening. Alex, Sampson and Bree are working through three seeming unrelated investigations which have certain commonalities that create a fog through which differentiating the facts of what actual happened from where the supposed clues are leading creates an interesting adventure for the reader. As with all Alex Cross stories we go get to visit with his family which is always an enjoyable part of the journey. Would recommend this one for anyone who enjoys James Patterson story telling wizardry. aucune critique | ajouter une critique
