Thoroughly enjoyed the plot twists, characters and settings. I would've given it 5 stars, but didn't particularly enjoy the language and taking God's name in vain. Can't wait for the next one. Sanctuary by Matthew Mather – This sequel to Mather’s Nomad joins Jessica and some of her fellow survivors struggling on a savage Earth that has been destroyed by the direct and catastrophic impact of Nomad that knocked the Earth out of its obit. The impact also fractured the planet, caused the oceans to flood the continents and filled the atmosphere with dust and toxic substances that destroyed the climate. The entire infrastructure of civilization was destroyed and Jessica and her small band of survivors struggle with frigid subzero temperatures and desperation to find eatable food and safe drinking water. They are also vulnerable to savage attacks from other despondent human beings trying to survive. Mather is a very good story teller and he subjects his readers to compelling and devastating violence against Jessica and her motely group of desperate companions. There are many very interesting characters in this story as well as shocking twists of plot. It’s a wild, but also interesting ride and I enjoyed Sanctuary very much. Of course, the reader should read Nomad before reading this book. aucune critique | ajouter une critique
