I really, really wanted to like the second half of the book as much as I did the first, but I just felt there was a lot of time spent on the main character's sisters when some of that time could have focused more on Jude, who is, after all, the catalyst for everything kicking off in the beginning and the main character's growth as a person. This did not keep from me very much liking the book as a whole and it is definitely a good read, but I just felt it lost a little of its staying power. ( )

I'm not sure that I've ever read a book that was entirely set in the Netherlands. In some of the book I felt like I could have been in the country. But then at other times it felt like it could have taken place anywhere. It was a weird dichotomy.

It's the story of Cara mostly. She's a free spirit. When the story starts she's a process server. She goes to serve someone and realizes that she has to serve a female Santa. That is Jude Donovan.

Jude's story is even more interesting than Cara's with lots and lots of twists and turns and stuff.

This book was definitely not a slow burn. It jumped right in and in deep. It was a nice change from some of the other Ylva Publishing books I've read.

My only big problem was that here and there it seemed like t here were chunks of the story that were missing, or had been there but were no longer. It was a little disconcerting.
