Twenty-seven-year-old heroine Ellen Shaw (from Boston) goes to London to take a job managing an antiquarian bookshop. Her twin sister (Fiona) urged Ellen to come to England and made all the arrangements. Fiona is also in London working for hero Hugh Weston (31), who owns the book store and the connecting wine bar. Fiona works at the wine bar. But Fiona seems to be missing. She wasn't there to greet Ellen when she arrived in England, and she didn't leave any messages at the flat that they were going to share. Since childhood Fiona sometimes disappeared for hours or days, and then, when she was back, she was full of excuses for her strange behavior. So at first, Ellen thinks Fiona is just being herself. But as days and days pass with no word from Fiona, Ellen begins to worry. Fiona and Ellen's boss, Hugh Weston, also has reasons to want Fiona back. His grandmother died in a fire in her home the day Fiona went missing, and Hugh has his suspicions about Fiona. Hugh also recently discovered that his now dead grandmother had a lot of money. So where is Fiona? Who is Fiona's mysterious fiancé that shows up and says not to worry? Is Fiona guilty of murder?

This was an enjoyable read, though maybe a little slow and confusing at times. I really like books set in England, so I loved the London setting! The heroine and hero were sometimes suspicious of each other, which added to the fun. I was curious to see what happened to Fiona. Another good Harlequin Intrigue. ( )
