The end of THURSDAYS indicated that Celie and Lilah would be heading off to find the unicorns next, but first, they have to deal with the escaped wizard Arkwright, who is hiding in the old Arkish secret passageways in Castle Glower. Celie uses her mother's invention, a "lockbox" that can vanish doors (and the spaces behind them), to hunt Arkwright down. ( )

Adventures with Celie and Castle Glower are always interesting. More griffins abound, and several mysterious discoveries await, now that the castle is whole again. ( )

(Fourth of 5: Castle Glower series. Fantasy, children's)

A wicked wizard that the Castle Glower folk took prisoner has escaped and is lose within the walls of the Castle. In the meantime, twelve year old Celie discovers more about her newly completed, beloved Castle and King Glower decides to build a ship, even though their country, Sleyne, doesn’t have a coast. And all their family and friends continue to join in with their adventures.

Explores emotions, such as maintaining your dignity when things don’t go your way.

Although the main protagonist of this series is eleven to twelve years old and is the youngest of the siblings, I would say the books work for eight year olds and upwards.

I like this a lot better than Wednesday or Thursday - the setup and reasoning work for me, including possibly some clues as to why things happened the way they did in the last two books. If the Castle is taking an active hand, it does change the possibilities - and I like its reasons (or at least, Celie's deductions about its reasons). The loose end that is Arkwright (hmm, and now there's some interesting echos with his name, given the ship...) gets loose, and the Castle is again under siege from inside. Celie, and her mother, and a couple of her brothers get to deal with some new and interesting discoveries, including the aforementioned Castle actions. More about the history of the land, more about the royal family (this generation, and previous), more hints about unicorns (though no actual unicorns, _yet_). Lots of griffins, and griffin eggs, and unexpected hatchings and bondings. Oh yeah, and they're building a ship, out of stuff found inside the Castle in yet another set of hidden spaces. Many threads that, more or less, come together to make a lot more sense out of things - and now there's a couple wizards at the Castle, to study it and to train the various magic-talented members of the Royal Family. Yes, I still want to read the next one - hope it doesn't take quite as long to come out. ( )
