Pooh's Sticky Situation - 2 stars
This is an adaptation of the second half of the 1966 Walt Disney short film, "Winnie the Pooh and the Honey Tree," itself an adaptation of the second chapter of A. A. Milne's Winnie-the-Pooh. It reuses Nancy Stevenson's illustrations from Pooh Gets Stuck in the Winnie the Pooh First Reader series but replaces Isabel Gaines' script with different and abbreviated text that is not as good.
Special Friends - 2 stars
In this brief interstitial, Pooh makes a little rhyme that evokes the song "My Favorite Things" from The Sound of Music.
Unbouncing Tigger - 2 stars
A poor adaptation of the first half of the 1974 Disney animated short film, Winnie the Pooh and Tigger Too, itself an adaptation of "Chapter 7: In Which Tigger Is Unbounced" from The House at Pooh Corner. Once again it reuses pictures that were first used in a Winnie the Pooh First Reader book, Rabbit Gets Lost. The art created by the Studio Orlando artists is untouched, though some images have been excluded, but once again Isabel Gaines' fine original script has been chopped down and fiddled about with until its barely recognizable.
Pooh's Friendly Hums - 3 stars
This roll call of the Hundred-Acre residents in cute little rhymes is actually kind of nice.
Pooh's Grand Adventure: The Search for Christopher Robin - 2 stars
This adaptation of the feature film reduces the story to a ridiculous degree, skipping large swaths of the story and its themes. I'd guess these pictures are also recycled too, but I don't know the source yet.
(My Pooh Project: I love Winnie the Pooh, and so does my wife. Having a daughter gave us a chance to indoctrinate her into the cult by buying and reading her every Pooh book we came across. How many is that? I’m going to count them this year by reading and reviewing one every day and seeing which month I finally run out. Track my progress here:
