Skull is the president of the Devil's Blaze MC an outlaw biker club that runs their town. When he see's Beth standing on the street he's captivated and is determined to have her.

Beth has led a protected life, even if not a very loving one. After her mother and step-father died and recently recovering from a fight from cancer she returns to boarding school at the age of twenty to get her diploma. (This really weirded me out seeing grown men going after a woman in high school, I had to keep reminding myself she was twenty, and why wouldn't she just get her GED?). She runs into Scythe after she ditches school one morning, she's fascinated by him and can't seem to stay away from him. The only problem is one of her step-brother guardians wants more than she wants to give.

Skull finds himself at war with her family and death, mayhem and betrayal as well as a lot of hot steamy sex abound.

This is a dark romance, with a to be continued story but it will grab you and hold you the entire way through. There's violence and loss and heartbreak as well as a compelling love story. You'll want to have the second book on stand by when you finish this book.

I found it really interesting seeing both her step-brother and Skull's obsession for her, neither willing to walk away from her and yet one was creepy as hell and the other was hot as hell. It's a crazy dynamic when that kind of attention is or isn't wanted and I appreciated the differences characterized in the story.

Both Hero and Heroine are a bit annoying. Ends on a cliffhanger. Very angsty. ( )

I like this book and will definitely read more. I didn't like the fact that the female main character seemed so wishy washy. She needed to be more steadfast to be a motorcycle club's president's girl. I liked the male character, a little rough and dirty. My type of man. ( )
