On the Same Day in March: A Tour of the World's Weather takes the reader on an adventure to 17 different countries. The author and illustrator show us what is happening from the poles to the equator all on the same day in March. I liked reading this book because it showcased many different cultures and places. It is very important for me to have a diverse library that reflects the diversity of my students. I believe this would be an excellent addition to any elementary school classroom. I would use this book for a science lesson on weather, climate, and seasons. It would also be good for a social studies lesson focusing on different countries around the world. In this book we follow along a trip to 17 different places, all on the dame day in the month of March. We discover the different climates, seasons, weather, all throughout the world. All on the same day in March, everyone is doing different things in different places in different weather. I really enjoy this book and think it is a great introduction to weather patterns as well as geography. The style that this book is written in is so captivating. Each page describes what the weather is like in a different place in the world on the same day of the year. This teaches students that the Earth is different all around, and the weather is as well. I think this is a very informational book that is also fun to read. I would use this in my classroom for sure! aucune critique | ajouter une critique

From the book flap -
"On the same day that it's icy cold in the Arctic, it's foggy in Louisiana, sunny in Barbados, and blowing wild winds called willy-willies in Australia. In this poetic exploration of latitude and weather, with bright and detailed paintings of seventeen different places, Marilyn Singer, and Frane Lessa show us what's happening from the poles to the equator - all on the same day in March."
