This book was too long. The main character is supposed to be qualified to be in the CIA but can't find a duffle? Drops papers? Don't waste your time ( )

A good spy novel which was a tad too light on the mystery. For a 430 page novel the characters and relationships were a little under developed and the overarching mystery a bit too predictable. I also felt the story bounced around to different locations and characters too often. While this increased the suspense it became frustrating as it didn't appear to serve any other purpose and caused narrative confusion at times. Nevertheless, it was my first spy thriller in a while and an enjoyable read. I will likely read another Chris Pavone novel in the future. ( )

While I liked the midpoint turn and the idea of a Lonely Planet/National Geographic type magazine being connected to the CIA, it probably could have been 100 pages shorter. Otherwise, for a 640 page book, I felt more could have been resolved at the end. For those who liked The Tourist series and Red Sparrow, this fits the mold. ( )
