Just as excellent as the first, but The King's Shilling expands the characters this time around. ( ) I had more fun reading the first volume, though I did enjoy the initial escapades in Portugal. While it was entertaining to see a Delilah spin on a plot that threatened to be too Austen-esque, I really am totally disinterested in Regency England, and her spunkiness started to veer a bit too much into brattiness--perhaps because her privileged station is put more in the spotlight on her home turf. I will read on, but I look forward to Delilah and Selim's return to the Mediterranean. PS-I don't recall it mattering to me in The Turkish Lieutenant, but boy howdy does the "chest plate" of her warmer-climes dress seem a bit gratuitous, uncomfortable, and impractical. She must have a weird diamond-shaped tan (or worse yet, burn) on her bosom. This is the second book in the Delilah Dirk graphic novel series. I ended up loving this book even more than the first one, it was just such a fun and entertaining read! When Delilah is wrongly accused of spying against the British empire she decides she must clear her name...even if it means going back home to her family and wearing a….dress (gasp). I love the characters and fast-paced story, this is a highly entertaining read that I really enjoyed a ton. There is a lot of humor in here, a lot of action, and a lot of snark. The illustration is very well done. It’s bright and colorful and easy to follow. Overall I loved this graphic novel and am really enjoying the Delilah Dirk series in general. This graphic novel series has been fast-paced, fun, and highly entertaining I can’t wait to pick up the third book! aucune critique | ajouter une critique
