Jack and his parents live in a London suburb in 1983. His grandfather lives on his own in a nearby apartment, but for him, it's still 1940, and he is a vivacious young fighter pilot, flying his Spitfire and battling the Germans. I'm a big fan of WWII aircraft so I liked this aspect, and the only way for Jack to communicate with his grandfather is by calling him "Squadron Commander," whereas Jack is "Wing Leader." Unfortunately, Grandpa's age and dissociation is a real threat, and after a few dangerous incidents, he is sent to an old age home, which he thinks is a German prison, especially since there are nefarious activities afoot. Jack and Grandpa mount a jailbreak for the residents. One of their few allies in the local Indian newsstand vendor, who if you are offended by stereotypes, you won't like this at all. The love between grandson/grandfather and the illustrations are the highlight here. aucune critique | ajouter une critique

Ich mag es, wenn die Fantasie spielt, aber die Geschichte muss im Rahmen ihres Settings glaubwürdig sein. Das ist hier nicht gegeben.
Mein Sohn (11) fand das Buch aber klasse. ( )
