I've tried before to learn tarot, many times I've looked at book or searched it online and just about every time I walked away because it just seemed far to complicated, but this book did a wonderful job of building a foundation, I have a basic understanding and it's a great book to reference while in the middle of reading, I feel I could find what I needed to know in a heartbeat. The cards are beautiful I adore the art, I was a little bummed they didn't come with their own box so I could travel with them easily, and I do wish they were printed on slightly better board, I would pay a little more to make that happen because it truly is a great set. I also love how she describes reading tarot I think it's a great way to explaining how it all works. Very cool ^_^ I've been practicing tarot for over a decade, and sometimes buying card decks online doesn't work out so well. Sometimes, no matter how beautiful the art, you just don't feel a connection with the cards. This was definitely not the case in these! The cards are gorgeous, the accompanying book (although I don't really need it) is helpful, and I could feel the connection to the cards the instant I touched them. My first spread was exactly what I needed to hear. I can see this becoming one of my favorite decks, along with Shapeshifter Tarot. aucune critique | ajouter une critique

I appreciate artists who are able to create new images that communicate the traditional meanings of tarot cards. But then I have to learn how their original illustrations relate to those meanings, and that's how I ended up reading this book. It turned out to be good in its own right, not just utilitarian. Stiefvater's explanations of what the cards mean often gave me new insights that I could use with other decks, not just hers. I don't think you'd want this to be your only book on the tarot—she doesn't spend much time on spreads, and if you want to use reversals, you're on your own—but it's a great companion to her deck, and a pretty darn good one to other decks.
